Derivation of dopaminergic neurons by isolation of stem cells derived neural progenitors

A 4 steps protocol for the generation of midbrain dopaminergic (mDA) neurons from mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) by formation of embryoid bodies (EBs) and further isolation and differentiation of Otx2+Corin+ cells. The mDA-like neurons co-express midbrain neuronal markers, exhibit physiological functions and improve motor dysfunction when transplanted into the striatum of a mouse model of parkinson's disease (PD).
