Generation of dopaminergic neurons from human pluripotent stem cells under defined conditions
This protocol describes a method to generate functional dopaminergic neurons via the formation of neural rosettes and isolation of neural stem progenitor cells. When the dopaminergic-like neurons were transplanted into the brains of 6-OHDA-induced Parkinson's disease animal models, cells survived and ameliorated the behavioral deficits of the animal models.
