Generation of clinically compliant retinal epithelium cells from human embryonic stem cells

This protocol describes a method to generate retinal pigmented epithelial (RPE) cells, suitable for pre-clinical studies. Stem cell-derived RPE cells were subretinally injected into the eyes of Elovl4 mice, and were shown to improve their visual acuity .
