Bronchial epithelial cells from severe asthmatic (SA) patients vs. Bronchial epithelial cells from healthy controls

Microarray analysis of bronchial epithelial cells from severe asthmatic (SA) patients and normal controls (NC). 

Bronchial epithelial cells were obtained by bronchoscopy with endobronchial epithelial brushing. 

Microarray analysis was performed on airway epithelial brushings of asthmatics and healthy controls. The bronchial brushings generally comprised >90% epithelial cells and were placed into Trizol for mRNA analysis.

Cells from mild asthmatic patients were also compared to controls but did not show significant difference in gene expression.
