Mesencephalic Ventricular Zone

NT.MVZ
The mesencephalic ventricular zone is made up of a cell layer that forms the ventricular walls, adjacent to the future cerebral aqueduct. This layer is populated with highly proliferative neuronal progenitor cells, which migrate towards more distal parts of the neural tube while adopting a more specific cell fate.
