Theca Cells (AntF)

Theca cells localize at the outermost layer of the follicle. They feature numerous mitochondria with tubular cristae, a smooth endoplasmic reticulum, and an abundance of lipid vesicles, that correspond with their principle function as a source of androgens for neighboring granulosa cells to then convert to estrogens.
