MPCs, mesenchymal precursor cells for bone fusion

Mesenchymal precursor cells (MPCs) are perivascular cells found in all vascularized tissues in the body and give rise to all the mesenchymal lineage stem cells in the tissues in which they reside. These are isolated by Mesoblast's proprietary manufacturing process. MPCs are mixed with MasterGraft Matrix and applied during spinal fusion surgeries to treat intervertebral disc diseases. Treatment resulted in higher rates of fusion success, comparable to those achieved using bone autografts, and to less blood loss during the surgical procedure.
