AMDC, autologous muscle-derived cells for urinary incontinence

Autologous muscle-derived cells (AMDCs) are  adult skeletal muscle-derived primary cells used to treat urinary incontinence. AMDCs are derived from each patient's skeletal muscle biopsy and expanded prior to injection back to the patient's body. Intrasphincter injection of AMDC appears safe for the treatment of patients with stress urinary incontinence. Additionally, preliminary efficacy data suggest that AMDC treatment may relieve stress urinary incontinence symptoms and improve quality of life.
