Bone marrow-derived hematopoietic stem cells (family)

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) can be isolated from the bone marrow and are characterized by the expression of Lin-CD34+CD38-CD90+CD45RA-. These cells are capable of self renewal and multilineage differentiation.

In clinical practice, HSCs are identified by positive expression of CD34.
