Mouse bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (family)

Mesenchymal stromal or stem cells (MSCs) refer to a heterogeneous population of adult stem cells defined by their ability to give rise to numerous differentiated mesenchymal cell types, including osteoblasts, adipocytes and chondrocytes. The cells adhere to plastic, exhibit a fibroblast-like morphology, and form colonies when grown at clonal densities.
