All in Vitro Cells > Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell card

BJ (National Center for Global Health, Tokyo)

This induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line was generated from BJ human foreskin fibroblasts. After seeding and initial culturing, cells were transfected with Sendai virus vectors containing the expression cassettes for Yamanaka’s reprogramming factors. Cells acquired a normal male karyotype.

Cells are cultured on irradiated mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) layers in DMEM/F12 medium, supplemented with  Knockout Serum Replacement (KSR, 20%), FGF2 (5 ng/ml ),  non-essential amino acids solution (1%), and 2-mercaptethanol (100 μM).
