HSF-6 (UC06) (WiCell Research Institute, Inc.)

The HSF-6 cell line was derived from an eight-cell embryo donated on Day 3 of culture by patients undergoing fertility treatments. Cells have a normal karyotype, 46 XX.

Cells are cultured on an irradiated CF-1 mouse embryonic fibroblast (MEF) layer in hESC medium. Medium consists of knockout–Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (KO-DMEM), knockout serum replacer (KSR,20%), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF,4 μg/ml), nonessential amino acids (100 μM), β-mercaptoethanol (0.1 mM), and glutamine (1 mM).
