Microarray analysis of post-mortem brain tissue from subjects with Huntington's diseases was performed. Genes differentially expressed in ventral head of the caudate nucleus of Huntington's disease donors (n=10) when compared to that of normal controls (n=10) were identified.
The cases were selected on the basis of a confirmed clinical and neuropathological diagnosis, including the exclusion of confounding pathologies. Snap-frozen brain blocks were provided by various tissue banks within the BraiNet Europe (BNE) network. The respective control tissues were matched for age, post-mortem (PM) delay and brain region.
This study includes additional samples, which were not analyzed by LifeMap.
