Microarray analysis of peripheral blood from influenza and respiratory syncytial virus patients

Microarray gene expression profiling comparing peripheral blood samples of patients with influenza A (H1N1/09 infection), or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) versus healthy controls. Patients (<17 years old) were recruited upon hospital admission and were assigned to diagnostic categories after diagnosis; patients with co-infection were excluded. Influenza H1N1/09 n=19; RSV n=22; healthy controls n=33.

The microarray experiment includes additional peripheral blood samples obtained from patients infected with other bacteria; these samples were not included in LifeMap analysis.
