Retrorubral Field

Brn.RRF
The retrorubral field (RRF) is located dorsally and caudally to the SNC. It is populated by dopaminergic neurons (which are sometimes referred to as 'the A8 dopaminergic neuron group'). As with VTA dopaminergic neurons, these neurons also project to the nucleus accumbens and the limbic cerebral cortex.
