Keratoblasts are proliferative cells which produce a hyaluronan-rich extracellular matrix, which contains sparse collagen fibrils.

Notes

In weeks 7 and 8 ectomesenchymal cells migrate in between the epithelium and the endothelium and form the early stroma.
