The outer curvature is formed from the rotated ventral surface of the heart tube, as it loops to the right. Both ventricles are subsequently formed by outer curvature myocardial ballooning. The ventricular chambers later enlarge by both active growth and expansion of the myocardial wall on the greater or outer curvature.
