Venous Pole

The venous pole arises from myocardial cells stemming from the dorsal mesocardium, early superior vena cava and pulmonary vein. At approximately E9.5, the venous pole is relatively symmetrical, with two channels which transfer blood from the embryo to the sinus venosus.
