Ureteric Bud Tip Cells (UB)

Ureteric bud tip cells remain relatively undifferentiated, while trunk cells begin to express genes characteristic of the mature collecting ducts. During the rapid branching phase, tip cell proliferation rate is high, while it is lower in the trunks, suggesting that the tip cells are the main progenitor population in UB growth.
