Hindlimb Myotome

On day 10 of mouse embryo development the dermomyotome ventrolateral lip compartment (VLL) at the limb level undergoes epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), delaminates from the dermomyotome and give rise to the limb muscle precursor cells.  These cells start migrating to the limb bud area where they proliferate to accumulate into the pre-muscle masses and only then start differentiation program.
