Ventral Telencephalon

NT.VnT
The ventral telencephalon (subpallium) develops into medial, lateral and caudal ganglionic eminences (MGE, LGE and CGE) and the preoptic/anterior entopeduncular area (POA/AEP) which give rise to the basal ganglia (striatum and globus pallidus) and parts of the amygdala, but also to neurons that migrate into the cortex and olfactory bulbs.
