Head of Pancreas

The pancreatic head is located within the curve of the duodenum, to the right of the superior mesenteric vein. The uncinate process is a prolongation of the caudal part of the head. The majority of the head of pancreas is formed by the dorsal bud, however, the ventral bud contributes to the development of the inferior portion of the head of pancreas.
