Pancreatic Polypeptide Cells (IsL)

Pnc.IsL.PnPCs

Pancreatic polypeptide (PP) cells are the latest to mature among the developing pancreas cells and can only be detected from E16.5, although PP mRNA is detected from E10.5. PP cells reside in the Islets of Langerhans, among the other endocrine cell types. PP-cells typically predominate in the head-portion of the pancreas, while there are relatively few PP cells in the tail portion.
