Paraxial Mesoderm Cells (TM)

PrM.TM.PMCs

Trunk paraxial mesoderm cells form the mesoderm of future trunk somites. As soon as the posterior neuropore closes, the paraxial mesoderm cells localize to the most caudal region of the embryo, called the tail bud. These cells are subject to constant FGF and Wnt signaling critical for maintaining the paraxial and presomitic mesoderm cell identity and inhibiting their premature differentiation.
