Lumbar Lateral Motor Column

The lumbar lateral motor column (LMC) is a subset of the LMC located at lumbar spinal levels and sends axons in to the hindlimb mesenchyme. At hindlimb levels, motor neurons axons that extend from the L1–L4 segments, join to form the lumbar plexus, while motor neurons axons originating from the L4–S4 segments, comprise the sacral plexus.
