Mesenchymal precursor cells for cardiovascular diseases

Mesenchymal precursor cells (MPCs) indicated for the prevention of heart failure after a heart attack. MPCs are directly infused into the affected coronary artery after removal of the initial obstruction. Treatment increases the number of blood vessels in the infarcted region, prevents scar formation, and significantly improves heart muscle function after a heart attack, preventing heart failure. Heart failure patients treated with 150 million MPC dose have not experienced any heart failure-related major adverse cardiac events over the three-year follow-up period.
