Bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells (Charles University)

Bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells (BM-MNCs) is a term used to collectively define bone marrow cells whose nuclei are unilobulated or rounded and which lack granules in the cytoplasm. About 10% of BM-MNCs express the hematopoietic CD34 marker.

200 - 250 ml of bone marrow blood was aspirated from the patients iliac crests. Mononuclear BMNCs were isolated using Ficoll density gradient centrifugation and resuspended in a final volume of 25–35 ml.
