IMR90-4 (WiCell Research Institute, Inc.)

This induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line was generated from IMR90 fetal lung fibroblasts by viral transduction of a combination of OCT4, SOX2, NANOG, and LIN28 genes. These iPS cells have a normal karyotype, demonstrate telomerase activity and express embryonic stem (ES) cell surface markers.

Cells were cultured on irradiated mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEF) in DMEM/F12 culture medium supplemented with KnockOut serum replacer (20%), non-essential amino acids (0.1 mM), L-glutamine (1 mM), ß-mercaptoethanol (0.1 mM) and 100 ng/ml zebrafish basic fibroblast growth factor. Alternatively, cells can be cultured under feeder-free conditions on matrigel-coated plates in MEF-conditioned medium or in TeSR1-defined medium.
