Mature Horizontal Cells (INL)


Eye.INL.MHCs

Horizontal cells (HC) are inhibitory interneurons located in the inner nuclear layer (INL). Horizontal cells modulate signaling between the photoreceptors and bipolar cells within the outer plexiform layer (OPL). In mouse, the axon-bearing HC is the only identified type of HC.
