Early Caudal Floor Plate Cells (DFP)

Early caudal floor plate cells are the early floor plate cells that are located in prosomers 1,2 & 3. Some of these cells will differentiate into dopaminergic precursor cells, and the others will retain a general ventral neuronal character and serve as organizer cells of the developing dopaminergic lineage.
