BMAC®, autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate for critical limb ischemia

Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC)  is collected and processed using the SmartPReP2 BMAC System. The bone marrow is centrifuged to remove red blood cells. The buffy coat is concentrated by removing plasma. The resultant concentrate of cells is used to treat patients with critical limb ischemia and congestive heart failure. Therapy is well tolerated without significant adverse events associated with the procedure during 3-month follow-up. Treatment increases blood flow, supports wound healing, reduces pain, and 79% limb salvage.
